Put an End to Shark Finning Today
Global demand for shark fin soup has pushed several shark populations to the brink of collapse. Shark finning is the cruel and wasteful practice of hacking off fins from live sharks, tossing the dead or dying animal overboard.
Not only is finning inhumane, but it also complicates fishery management since differentiating shark species is difficult once fins are removed.
The Shark Conservation Act would end shark finning in U.S. waters and make us world leaders in shark conservation and fisheries management.
There are only a few months left in this Congressional session. Tell your Senators TODAY that you demand shark protections and the passage of the Shark Conservation Act

It makes me very sad to see the human race destroying this planet and everything on it and not giving two shits about it - the air we breathe, the waters we swim in, the land we dig our toes into, and all the creatures, from driving entire species of animals to brink of extinction and beyond. It angers me beyond words that in 100 years, entire species of animals that are around today won’t be here because people are selfish, cruel, and thoughtless, and our great grandkids will have to read about polar bears, hammerheads, pelicans, and humpback whales and never lay their eyes on one in the wild.
Everyone should reblog and sign the petition. As someone who is quite literally obsessed with sharks, I’m so embarrassed of our species for doing things like this. FOR SOUP! FOR SOME MOTHER FUCKING SOUP! Absolutely ludicrous. Out of the roughly 400 species of shark, over 100 will be extinct by 2017. That’s less than 7 years away. Some of our children will never know these species. Disgusting.
